"Stupid Gate!" Boris barked as swivelled his hips, pulling himself into the Limo till he was practically lying across Dallas. While it was hard to see ahead, it allowedBoris to bring his Gatling up and aimed at the gate where he unleashed another barrage at the gates fasteners. Multiple shots went side, but the sheer number of rounds was like using a watering hose and several parts of the chain gate exploded or vanished as Boris cheered... Then gave a grunt as he realised they were still barrelling towards it.
Boris yanked himself backwards into the Limo across Dallas, his massive bulk taking up most of the window as Boris apoligised. "Excuse Boris... Gatling hot!" He said as he crawled backwards dragging his gun in with him until he's legs found the passenger footwell and he pulled himself into the passenger seat. "There! We are victories dah?"

"So much for playing slave buyers," Ereba said as she retracted her anti-material rifle from the gun port. "I wasn't comfortable with that anyway. We should probably find a group of Reapers Bane, although I have a feeling I know who they're with."

Darya stood on the floor watching everyone's back until it was her turn to climb up.

"Boris I can't see!" As much as Dallas was hulking out in her Destroyer armor, she wasn't nearly as big in profile as the Russian man crossing her as he came into the vehicle. Dallas' hands went off the wheel; they couldn't even reach it while he crossed.
"Auto-navigation engaged. Manual operation requires at least one appendage on the wheel," the VI said.
Just then, Dallas' foot put the accelerator pedal to the floor, as Boris ended up with his weight on her knee as he crossed.
"Unsafe speed. Brace for impact," the VI said calmly.
Ereba and Janase had to grip something as the eezo engine was put to full. There was a slight jostle as the armored limo hit the gate and a very loud bashing sound as it went through.
"Wall ahead in 30 meters. Please decelerate."

"Sorry! Sorry!" Boris said as he threw his Gatling into the passenger footwell. Immediately the cooling barrels landed on something that caused the smell of something scorched to fill the cabin as he clambered off Dallas and into his seat where he again reached for his seatbelt and clicked it in place. "Boris got little excited! Everyone shoot something and now Boris shoot something! Now we are real fire team an... Wall! Wall!" Boris's muted voice called out as he grabbed and shook Dallas's shoulder and gestured ahead of them in a panic. "Wall!"

The Meld
Matriarch Maldaisi and Mira were watching as more and more, both Naleena and Xanthe's brows became furrowed. The beads of sweat turned into droplets, and their hands that were held together, were suddenly squeezing each other hard.
"This can't be normal," Mira said.
Maldaisi moved to the melded asari. "Naleena, you need to come out now!"
* * * *
"How do you feel?"
Xanthe did not answer, but stared at Naleena with a look of hopelessness. Then Naleena realized the Xanthe she was looking at was the Xanthe still inside the meld. The darkness around them had closed in and the sense of light that had been in the vision began to fade. And Naleena could not leave the meld.
There was a second white object in the puzzle pieces and both became orbs, moving around through the puzzle pieces as if they were some sort of portal into the violet of their color. The white orbs moved around like a pair, flickering this way and that. A black slit appeared in the center of each white orbs, making them seem like eyes, until as they took more form, Naleena realized they were. The eyes stopped, and locked onto her.
"Get out now!" Maldaisi's voice shouted both inside and outside the meld.
But Naleena could not leave.
The eyes rose out of the puzzle pieces and they began to grow. As they did, Naleena felt cold, felt their gaze trapping her, preventing her from leaving the meld. Xanthe disappeared, her hands sliding out of and away from Naleena's. She was disappearing.
"I found you," said the voice behind the eyes.
Naleena was choking. She couldn't draw a breath. Her defenses, no matter how powerful, could not escape the trap, the thing that had been sprung with her melding. The trap that had been set by Tysis, within Xanthe. It would strangle her.
There was a sound and feeling, as if her soul was cracking open, a cold, colder than the void, and then a defiant scream from somewhere outside. A blinding flash then came, and Naleena was dumbfounded, sundered from everything, numb and unaware, a feeling like nothing before as she felt herself being split from the thing that possessed her.
* * * *
Naleena came to. She was on the floor, on her back. Xanthe lay collapsed, unmoving, with Matriarch Maldaisi bent over her body, her hands upon Xanthe's face. Mira stared, horrified.
All over, Naleena felt it hard to move, her nerves numb from head to toe. Maldaisi's face was strained, her eyes black, her teeth grinding and her cheeks sunken. There were veins popping from her temples and neck, and spit dripping from her lower lip. And then the Matriarch screamed.

As Boris cleared the way, he and Dallas suddenly saw the lower level of the deck they were plowing through. And the very, uncrashable through support wall they were going to hit.
"Such bullshit!" Dallas shouted in frustration, and slammed her foot down on the brake, while spinning the wheel.
Tires screeched, leaving melted rubber on the concrete deck. As if it were in slow motion, everyone in the vehicle felt the spin as Dallas tried to avoid the wall, or at least to deflect the blow as there was no way it was going to be missed. As the limo skidded parallel to the wall, it impacted on it's left side (now Boris' side). Too fast to even keep track of Janase, Ereba and Boris all crushed up into the left side of the car, sure they might just be dead, until they realized that air bags had blown out to stop them from getting mashed against the interior. For her part, Dallas slid up into Boris, her left shoulder jamming into his right. There was too much shock to realize any pain. Even the armored windows shattered, protective glass pebbles flying about the inside like a blizzard, while everyone felt their heads and bodies bouncing back and forth. Finally, they came to a standstill.
The left side of the limo was crushed into the concrete wall maybe about six inches. The right side driver door opened and Dallas stepped out. Because she was so disoriented, as she staggered, she looked like she was sticking her chest out and swaggering like she was a drunk braggart, one foot crossing in front of the other as she stepped, arms in fists swaying as she went. Here eyes stared without seeing, until she finally dropped to her knees and fists, staring at the ground until her mind could stop whirling. Her first words were a sort of deflated cheering song, like a half awake person having a dream and mumbling.
"Nah, nah. Nah nah nah, nah. Hey, hey, hey. Good-bye."
The swimming in her head stopped and her body reacted by her spitting onto the ground, before she heaved a huge breath. "Yeah, uh, that vehicle was hot, anyway. Everyone okay?" she asked from her knees.

NALEENA
Naleena turned to Mira and said one word. “Run.”
And then the Spectre struggled to her feet knees slightly bent, arms hanging down at her sides hands curled with their palms facing forward, her eyes totally black and a blue biotic aura swirled about her as she prepared to face a fight for survival. Naleena moved her head from shoulder to shoulder cracking the bones in her neck. She was ready to face Maldaisi, the Tysis seed or whoever was in control of that body in combat.
She began to circle the room, studying what was happening in front of her.

Draco kept his sword out and advanced ahead to cover the others as they came up, but paused until everyone from his team was ready. Team B could hear him as well as C by com as he spoke. "This is it. I don't think that scent is just because the hospital. It's either hiding something here or coming from something here as well. I would doubt if this place was entirely unguarded. And, I will warn you, I've kept up on Spectre T'Sarius' files. Be prepared for anything. There may be things here less than human. Rather monstrous, in fact."
Ideally, Draco wanted to wait for Team B, but if they were taking too long, he would move ahead with his team, as surely time was pressing. Soon enough Tanith was able to come and meet up with Draco. He waited for the others to come, drawing his sword pre-emptively at the warning. "Anything yet?" He asked, his eyes looking around the area for any sign of movement in the dark and cold floor. There had been nothing however, the whole place seemed absolutely dead quiet. The lights of the wires and the low hum of electricity through them and the monitors seemed the only noise, yet the feeling of unease persisted. "This place used to have lights...And these cables. What the hell are they for?" Tanith wondered aloud, catching sight of his breath as he felt how cold it was in here. He wanted to move forward, to go peak into one of the rooms where the cables came from, but didn't dare do so without some back up. Finally in this cold and sterile smelling room, something moved. A glowing orb, familiar to all as a simple VI drone, flittered out from down the corridor. It flew slowly, seeming without aim as it drifted towards the group. Ahnjan himself raised a brow at the wandering drone, and Tanith squared his shouldered and prepared to leap as it flew closer and spoke. "Welcome to Operations Base 31...It seems you have returned from a Mission. Would you like some help?" The drone spoke, its audio somewhat compressed and sounded mildly corrupted. Tanith thought for a moment, tempted to speak before the drone spoke, "If you are part of the Ren'Dana Research Imitative, please report to testing room C for Debriefing..." It continued to float there, seeming to wait for reply as Ahnjan looked to Draco, whispering to him, "I believe this may be some sort of automated greeting program. A few simple pre-recorded statements and simple logic matrix. We may wish to play along with...whatever it thinks we are."

"Urrgh... Haaargh..." Keith grunted as he pulled himself up the cable of the target shaft to the secret installation. He had to admit, he'd let his physical training lapse having been so engrossed in his reading and coding that the climb was proving harder than he knew it should be. His arms and legs were burning and when they finally made it to the target floor it couldn't have come to ssoon for Keith who activated his Omni glasses and quickly looked at the system holding the doors shut.
It wasn't a simple system but Keith felt up to the challenge as he found the code chains and scanned through them, searching for the ones that would fit together until he'd identified all three and arranged them before inserting them into the system. The outer lift doors opened and Keith put out a toe to try and find purchase on firm ground. He managed a toe, then a foot, then gradually putting weight on that foot pushed himself gingerly off the cable, finding it bowing a tad under it taking his weight laterally that caused his legs to start splitting apart as the cable moved away from the door leaving Keith no choice but to commit. The door or the cable...
"Oh... Bother..." Keith breathed as he flung his body towards the door and managed most of the way before gravity took him and pulled downwards. Keith caught the lip of the door and struggled to pull himself up till he was able to get his elbows onto the floor and paused to catch his breath as he looked across the floor.
Struggling to touch his comm, Keith reported in. "Hello? Repair team... We uh... found the problem, or at least we know where to look now... We'll be over... in a bit... just need to... get a grip here."

Keith found someone standing above him then, and saw Kamau, who reached down and helped Keith up. "Glad you could join us," Kamau said. Kamau then helped Lauren and Tanith up. The two teams were now together.
Draco looked to the drone. "We are here to review the mission," Draco said, "Please, lead the way." Then Draco added, "Will you please tell us everything we need to know that happened here since the last mission," to the drone.
Draco, Ahnjan, Keith, Darya, Lauren, Tanith and Kamau could then follow. Team B soon got the hint to play along with the drone for now.

The Monastary at Nevos
For moment, Naleena could hear shouts from other nearby places in the monastary as the acolytes responded to the scream. Mira's protest, too, came to her ears as Mira Moved too try and pull Xanthe's collapsed body away from the fight. Too close, Naleena might worry as Mira approached, but then Naleena felt as if everything was becoming ulta focused, because of the tunnel vision that happened when adrenaline was coursing through the veins, or some other biotic force.
It was the second, more than the first, Naleena feared as she saw a Maldaisi with blackened eyes, hunched over, facing her like a predator, hands tensed like claws. This was not the matriarch, she knew. Like when she was melded, it seemed to Naleena that the very air darkened around them, so that it seemed as if the matriarch and Naleena were all that existed. The panicked voices became silent. Mira and Xanthe were gone from Naleena's senses.
"I thank you for awakening me. I knew you would come, that you couldn't resist. I will become whole again," the matriarch spoke, but it was not her cold voice in Naleena's ears. Maldaisi's body began to radiate with a dark blue energy, and then within her darkened eyes, two white iris appeared.

Keith beamed as he sneaked along with the team. "Oh boy oh boy... This IS exciting! We're like secret agents on the prowl. Penetrating the lair of an evil doer... Probably here somewhere... doing evil. What do you think it is? I bet it's medical experiments... EVIL... Medical experiments. The kind that the ethics commission will want to throw the book at this hospital for. Only they can't, so... Oh my gosh! We're the book aren't we! I can't wait to throw everything we have at these law breakers and show them it doesn't pay to mess with the law of another power... Even across borders!"

The Monastery on Nevos
"Not this time, Tysis!" Naleena said. With Mira clear, she gathered herself and summoned a series of attacks starting with a dark channel, that sickening energy drain that just couldn’t be shrugged off; followed by an eviscerating warp and finally she let loose with a devastating flare like the one that she used in the Leviathan. The biotic detonation blew out the windows and threw Maldaisi across the room into the wall.

"YES!" Keith exclaimed. "They might have already put their nefarious plans into motion and released whatever this lab is creating! We need to know everything! We need samples! Records! Witnesses! We should call in the Council Fleet and put a cordon around this place so forensics can go over it with a fine tooth comb while we interview everyone who knew anything! Lauren could be the good cop... And I..." Keith gasped as if he'd suddenly realised a life long ambition was suddenly within his grasp. "... I could finally be the bad cop. Oooo This is so exciting!"

The Monastary at Nevos
Mira had to crouch and cover Xanthe's body as the attack went off, although Naleena wasn't aware of her until, for a moment, Naleena could see the garden clearly again. Maldaisi fell off the wall onto her hands and knees, her robes in tatters, groaning as the force of the biotic attack had threatened to crush her and the flare ripped through her. Naleena could see her face was bloodied. But the white eyes looked up defiantly.
Before another attack came, Naleena felt locked in place, and then she was rising off the ground, her mass changed. It was like a lift, but Naleena saw a pair of dark blue, tentacle like apendages had grown from Maldaisi's back and shot beneath the ground, only to rise up again beneath Naleena and levitate her making it impossible to control her own body. It was like a lift, but the manifestation of the tentacles was like Iyana, like Tysis, and somehow it was stronger.
While Naleena couldn't move for a moment, Maldaisi's bloodied face twisted, and her teeth clenched. Somewhere within, Naleena knew that Maldaisi was trying to fight whatever had possessed her. But Maldaisi was overcome and another pair of biotic tentacles sprouted large from Maldaisi's back and slammed into the ground. A shockwave, a massive one and one that would set off a biotic explosion. Still bound, Naleena was hit. Pain and white light flashed in Naleena, overwhelming her and sending her head over heels through the air. Naleena landed with a crunch and more pain somewhere father away.
A shield had formed around Maldaisi's form. Again, she struggled as within the matriarch tried to stop her. Naleena saw the form of the matriarch jerk and twist unnaturally, but again, when it came around, it was the invader who won over the matriarch's form.
For a moment, Maldaisi's clawed hands reached towards Naleena, as if to launch an attack to finish her off. But then the white eyes seemed to find another form. They stared at Mira as she carried the form of Xanthe away.
And whatever the dark thing was that took over Maldaisi, raised it's clawed, biotic glowing hands towards Mira, and set to attack her while she was vulnerable.
Naleena knew the shield that was up would stop her from making an attack on Maldaisi that could stop her. There was no way that Mira would escape.

Purple blood ran down Naleena's forehead and into her eyes. Her vision blurred and she struggled to stay aware of what was happening around her. Tysis had turned to focus on Mira. She struggled to her feet and while doing that her eyes saw that the ceiling had several large cracks in it, probably caused from the flare.
She shook off her daze and focused on the matriarch. "I'm not done with you, bitch!"
The matriarch, controlled by Tysis and surrounded by a biotic shield turned and cackled.
Naleena summoned her biotic energy and focused it not on the matriarch, but on the ceiling and then pulled. The roof fell in atop of the matriarch. And some of it landed on Naleena.
"Run! Go!" Naleena shouted.
One of the acolytes grabbed Xanthe's feet and helped Mira.
Pieces of the rubble moved around the matriarch's barrier.

"Naleena!" Mira shouted, before a sizable chunk of the falling ceiling of the indoor garden came down hard on Naleena. She collapsed on the ground, other pieces falling. A large amount of falling rubble blocked Mira, the acolyte and Xanthe from view or access to Naleena, and a much larger amount came down on where Maldaisi was. Naleena could feel herself fading, but her will kept her awake. More of the roof was collapsing, if she could just stay conscious long enough, she could get out...
The rubble that had buried Maldaisi shifted and the matriarch climbed out. Her face was covered in purple blood, except for where her white eyes stared out at Naleena. The last thing Naleena saw was the possessed matriarch using one of the tentacles that she had spawned to lift a massive piece of the roof that had almost buried her and hurl it towards her.
* * * *
Naleena wasn't sure where she was. White haze filled what she thought was her blurred vision but she couldn't focus at the moment. A form came into view, and there were words Naleena couldn't understand. Naleena thought she should feel pain, but didn't. She tried to move, in any way she could, but could not.
Time had passed, Naleena believed. She could have been at the monastery or on the White Rose, but felt she wasn't. She felt she hadn't been in this place before. The form above her had disappeared, but Naleena couldn't tell if it was for minutes, or for hours. Or maybe a day? The form reappeared above her with another.
"Naleena?"

Citadel Docks (Continued from post #94, Page 4) "Captain Aroldis Hondo. Human, male, Age 30..." Adir started, angling his omni-tool so Daliax could see the dossier he'd pulled up on their guy. There was a mugshot, both front-facing and profile, depicting an olive-skinned human, who was sporting a ridiculous pompadour. His nose was a little big, and he had a scar right above the lip, but was rather handsome otherwise. "Born on Omega, no known permanent residence." "Ha. What's on his head?" Daliax poked fun at the man's hair. "I am more interested in his criminal record. I would like to know what we're getting into." Adir continued. "Looks like he's in the business, too. He has served time for smuggling, and appears to have some unpaid docking fees. Otherwise clean-- no trouble for a couple years now.” “Mild for an Omegan spacer.” “I think we should keep in mind that any crimes committed outside of council space aren’t always included in C-SEC reports. Keelah, if they were… imagine what my record would look like!” “Eh, I ain’t too worried about it.” Daliax shrugged. “Anything listed on the manifest?” “Nothing of interest. It appears to be operating as a transport vessel for the time being.” Daliax and Adir took a moment to observe the ship from the dock. There was a line of quarians, some with luggage, and others with only their traditional garb waiting to embark. “Lotta suits.” Daliax yawned. “Think it’s headed for the fleet?” “Possibly.” Adir opened another window on his omni. “Prairie Oyster, 39055. Show status.”An outdated image of the Oyster was displayed --unlike the ship in the image, the real deal was lacking some paint--, and there were several paragraphs in Khelish below it. “It is an approved vessel, designated ‘friendly’ by the Migrant Fleet. Marked as ‘mostly safe’.” “Mostly safe?” “Anything going in and out of the Terminus is often considered to be ‘at risk’-- however, the captain and his crew are known to be ‘trustworthy’ according to the Fleet’s records. It was last docked with the Nemati, a known trade vessel within the Flotilla. Next destination appears to be Omega Station.” “Maybe I should send you in first.” Daliax cackled. “Come on.”

Hospital Team
The drone led them down the corridor, its soft glowing light illuminating the area as it led them down the darkened rooms. "Operations Base 31 has served as a location for medical treatment. Current operations leader is [Error: Query Not Found]. Currently, all power is currently to be conserved for Computer Operations, on orders of acting supervisor Ren'Dann Vas Nedas." As the team passed the rooms they saw inside were computers, hooked up together with servers and felt the coldness of this entire floor, seeming to keep these systems cool.
The drone seemed to flash at keiths words, "Ren'Danna Medical Initiate designation 44214, is currently suspended pending resource allocation. Are you delivering required materials?" It asked as it floated in front of Keith. Tanith spoke up as he looked to the drone.
"What exactly is Initiate 44214?" He asked, wanting to get more information as the drone spoke. "Information Requested is Currently Restricted. Are you Delivering Required Materials?"
"What are the requested Materials?" Tanith asked as the Drone seemed to pause, searching its databanks.
"Requied Materials: Biped Sapient Lifeforms, Ages 28 to 34. Phenotype Male. Biotic Potential Required. Non-Dextro Composition..." The drone continued to list traits as Tanith furrowed his brow. He looked to draco as he spoke.
"Test Subjects...They must have ran out of Guinea Pigs for whatever they were trying to do here." He said with disgust, as the drone finished listing its criteria. "Are you delivering required materials?"

NALEENA
Naleena drifted again. More time passed. She stirred again and saw the two figures and heard the voice.
“Naleena?”
She groaned.
“Naleena?”
The voice sounded familiar.
“Mira?”
Of course it was. The room began to come into focus. It was a hospital room or at least it looked like one. There was an IV bag hooked up to her arm keeping her fluids normal and pain killers being administered on a timed basis.
“Mira," Naleena said, took a deeper breath and winced. "It hurts to breathe... Where am I?”

Citadel Docks As Daliax shouldered her way past the line of quarians, Adir made sure to apologize to anyone in her wake. The broad-shouldered human who had been waving people on noticed the commotion. Arms crossed, he took position in front of the airlock. As the turian neared, he caught a glimpse of the pistol on her hip. Purple wasn't a regulation color outside of the Asari republics, and the C-SEC boys liked their blue, so he had her pegged as a merc. He loosened up, and carefully assumed a bladed stance. Daliax picked up on the human's body language immediately. She held a hand low, with her palm out, as if to say 'chill, bro'. Just in case, the her other hand didn't stray far from her own sidearm. "Who's the boss man around here? I got some questions." "Who's askin'?" "Dax Gavian, Special Tactics." Daliax produced some credentials on her omni-tool. Knowing her image hadn't been updated yet, she covered her left eye with her hand. "It's me, I promise." "Uh, Cap?" The human radioed the bridge. "Yeah?""There's a Spectre out here lookin' for you." "Well shit, Temple, send 'er in!"Temple stepped aside, and waved Daliax through, but Adir was stopped. "Line starts back there, pal." "Hm? Oh, no, I'm--" Adir started. "Sorry, this one's mine." Daliax grabbed Adir by the wrist, and pulled him through. Once inside, Daliax and Adir were soon greeted by another member of the crew. "Welcome aboard, Spectre T'sarius." "I'm uh..." Daliax pulled awkward at the collar of her armor. "Thanks?""Chief engineer Adkins, at your service. If you'd follow me, I'll gladly take you to the bridge." Daliax just kinda waved him on, and followed along at her own pace. "How many times has that happened, now?" Adir whispered quietly. He was promptly ignored. "Captain Hondo has been trying to reach you for some time now." Adkins explained. As they neared the bridge, they could begin to hear music. "Hell, he'd pretty much given up. We were gonna shove off once we got the rest of the suits loaded up. No offense." "We've been called worse." Adir chuckled. The Oyster's bridge was quite the sight. Rope lights ran across the ceiling in no particular order, and the surfaces near the controls were covered in various trinkets from across the galaxy (including a physical, signed photograph of a six-gun packing quarian). One of the more interesting touches was a pair of fuzzy dice, taped directly to the canopy glass. Beneath the dice, and visible over the top of the pilot's seat, was the outrageous pompadour of Captain Hondo. Mirror in one hand, comb in the other, he ran over his slick coiffure one last time. A quick adjustment of the mirror gave him a glimpse of who'd been brought up to the bridge. Hondo swiveled in his chair to face them. His attire was almost as interesting as his hairdo, black leather jacket over a utilitarian gray jumpsuit, and a pair of suede Chuck Taylor sneakers. "Adkins, who the hell is this?" He asked, with a knife-hand gesture. "It's uh... the Spectre, Cap." "It's a Spectre, not the Spectre." Hondo stood up. "What do you want, huh?" He asked, making his way towards Daliax. "C-SEC send you here to poke through my cargo bay again? Hassle my boys some more, hm? Ain't got a damn thing to hide, so you go right on ahead." "This guy literally sells illegal weapons to pretty much anyone with credits." Daliax thumbed towards Adir. While that wasn't entirely true, the quarian went along with it, and simply nodded. "Trust me, we're not here for that."

Mira
One of the figures in Naleena's vision moved away and the other moved in, to put her cheek gently next to Naleena's. The cheek was wet with tears, and Naleena knew it was Mira.
"You're in the hospital. You're going to be all right," Mira said. "We didn't think you'd make it for a moment, but you pulled through. I don't know what I would have done without you."
There was a soothing biotic energy coming from Mira, and at that moment, it was the best feeling ever.

Naleena smiled. "I don't know what I was thinking... trying to be the hero," she said and coughed. Mira gave her a little water. "Tysis vaporized Kira, a matriarch, and I expected to go toe to toe with her. Maybe I hoped I could beat her while she and Maldaisi were struggling for control. Next time I say 'run', do as I say and make sure I go with you.
"Did Xanthe make it?"
