Anika frowned as she searched her mind while glancing over at Blossom examining her nails. "I didn't know we had a carrier."
"Tarball's had one." Jess sighed as she rubbed a finger against her temple. "No one knew where it was though so if it's been reported missing... Tarball's must have had loyal staff misplace it while they were thinking... is this new boss lady someone we should tell about Tarball's command carrier? Jess's head flopped back on the couch. "...Yep, this is strong coffee time."
"Like you don't spike it rum anyway." Anika chided.
"Best of both worlds Luv." Jess said getting up and reached under her coffee table. She emerged with a chip that she plugged into the comm and a moment later, a blueprint of a carrier appeared. "Tarball's was around during the first contact war. He made alot of credits off trading with our early colonies and buying up every ship he could which is when Medusa fell into his hands. We hadn't gone full Eezo back then and human ship's were just getting the hang of using it and mass relays to travel..."
"... The Majestic was the first prototype Eezo drive carrier designed to get our smaller fighters into range of the Turians and let them have at them. This is her design schematic I... appropriated from a very suggestable K&Q man years back. She got mauled in her first encounter and only survived because the Asari called off the Turians and sued for peace. Tarball's bought the ship at scrap value but he couldn't let a piece of history like her be chopped up for scrap. The Majestic disappeared and hasn't been seen again. I only knew she was still out there because some of my ship network got orders for big shipments full of things you need for ship repairs or renovations. Then a K&Q crew would take the ship, dropoff the crew, then days later come back with an empty hold and return the ship with a wiped navigation computer. The amounts being processed it had to be a big ship."
Anika mulled the information over. "And now those looking after her, rotating in, say it's not where it's supposed to be? It's possible those aboard her decided to go into business for themselves."
Jess winced. "Not good for the Alliance if a decades old Alliance carrier thought decommissioned makes trouble. More trouble for us if she's carrying K&Q colors. I'll have Aelias tell the K&Q ship network to keep an eye open for anything related. If she's running, we may need Pegasus to run her down if she's not under K&Q control."
Anika chewed her lip. "Should we warn the Alliance?"
"That would be the responsible thing to do wouldn't it..." Jess sighed. "Fine, I'll talk to them. I was going to have to anyway at some point... Hey guys! Tarballs is dead and I'm your new go to if you activate your militia clause in our contract..! I'm predicting some fireworks on that front luv."

Radelle winced. "Lady Jess, if it is our property, despite our ties, won't it potentially fall out of our hands if the Alliance is notified? Notwithstanding Steiner's ability to, perhaps, maneuver through such difficult conversations but now the Council might be involved. The concern is, after all, the vessel is property of the Kings and Queens and wouldn't we want to keep it that way?"
She sighed. "I regret being the bearer of such bad news, but at least you have someone in the company loyal enough to you to report such a thing gone missing. If it was under wraps, even from our own organization, there's reason to believe the authority who took it might have not wanted us to know about it, and at least we do. And, we are warned, if that is some benefit."

Team A
Janase motioned for them to hold up while Boris rejoined them. Inside, she was nervous. Getting this far was not something she expected. The aspect of actually having to pick some people, it really made her wonder what she and the others would find. Commander Ky'jhan looked between the group as he spoke, "When you're ready, you can meet me down the hall at the prisoner ward..." he said with as polite a smile as someone as hardened as the batarian could be. As he walked off, Janase looked to Ereba as she spoke.
"We may need to stall...the others should be getting here soon." She informed Ereba, mapping out in her mind how long it might take for the other team to reach their rendevous point.
Team B
Tanith looked at the kid, his eyes wide a bit as he cursed inside of his head. 'You've got to be kidding me...' he thought as he looked over to Keith and Lauren and then back to the kid. "We're busy kid..." he said, trying to sound gruff and impressionable as the batarian kid shook his head no.
"Please, you gotta help! You guys fix things, right? This elevator needs people to help fix it." He said with pleading eyes. Tanith growled a bit, they needed to solve this and now, however they did it.
Team C
Ahnjan kept leading the group forward, spotting 2 more bombs along the journey which he was able to spot and help the others avoid. "One thing is for certain, we should probably try and leave a different way if we need to go in a hurry..." He said as he stepped over another trip wire. Leading them through, the sewer had dried out at this point, becoming a dusty tunnel. "We're getting close...soon we'll be able to get to the utility exits, and then a quick trip to the elevators..."

Dallas nodded, then in a normal voice so she could be heard, she put her hand to her helmet's side, as if instinctually listening to some sort of com or alert, then checked her omni-tool. Scrolling through some screens of non-sensitive messages that she went fast through so they wouldn't be notices, she then closed her omni-tool and said to Ereba and Janase, "Boss, I've got a deal coming through on a recruit. Forwarding to you." Dallas forwarded a nonsense message to Janase and used the time to hopefully delay a bit as they'd stopped while it all went down.
Team C
Kamau said, "Well, we sure as don't need to hide what is here." He used his omni-tool to leave a visible spray marker on the wall nearby where each bomb was in bright orange. It might not be seen in the dark, but it was a lot easier find than a tripwire. "I hope not to come back this way, either. But if we have too."
Draco said, "If this goes according to plan, we'll have time and choices. If not, well then, we'll have to improvise."

"Come on!" the kid shouted and led them to a stairwell and ran up the steps like a 12 year old. You know... like without stopping for air. He waited at the fifth floor.
Lauren trudged up the steps. "I used to be able to run up steps like that, but then I took an arrow in the knee.... never mind."
They got to the fifth floor. The kid led them to the elevator and for certain there were people inside. It was stuck between floors. It was best to get the people out before repairing it. Lauren opened her tool kit and took out a crowbar... the one that was in the back of the van. She stuck it in between the doors and pried them apart.
"I can't hold this very long. Keith, Tanith, pull them apart," Lauren said.
Team C
"If we have to come back this way, if we run fast enough, maybe we can outrun explosions?" Darya said as she followed Kamau. "Okay, maybe not."
Team A
Ereba nodded and got on her com again. "Boris? Where are you?"

Boris walked with a wider stride as he hurried to where his team were. Passing by several security guards he flashed them a wave as he went past. "Hello! Excuse Me! Important people to be guarding! Come from Limo out front! Great park job!" He uttered until he came up on Ereba's position. As he did his helmets Hud began to scroll options that he'd never seen before, several he didn't understand, but some he knew off by heart as they related to car parts. "Nyet... Puppy load armour with wrong software? This why Boris not like armour Boris not understand!"
Arriving in front of the team, Boris stopped and gave them a thumbs up. "Limo is parked! If award for parking exists, Boris get top mark! Is beautiful parking! Boris take photo later if have time!"
Team B
Keith looked over the lift, then back at the kid. "How... How? How did this happen?" He asked as he moved to grab one side of the doors and pulled his side open. bracing himself against the door he opened his Omnitool and started scanning the Lift's onboard systems as a potential prelude to invading the system. "... Not that I don't know how to find out of course but... uh... does anyone want to explain what happened before the lift stopped? Did someone press a button? Hear any noises? Fall before the breaks kicked in? Something?" He asked.

Aboard the Majestic
Iyana II had come out of whatever dream state she'd seemed to be in. She stood up and walked to the central galactic map held in three dimensional display in front of and below the captain's chair on the large bridge of the Majestic.
"Amaya," Iyana said, "It won't be long before someone inside the Kings and Queens starts noticing things missing. We need to seize assets, and seize personnel who will be loyal to us. I wan't you to start making an inventory of those things, and we will begin putting together the new organization. As Tarballs I have no doubt intended. And, without question, the calling I have, the path that my predecessor had set herself upon before she was destroyed."

Amaya stood with her arms folded behind her back by the chair Iyana had vacated. "I believe the collective knowledge of this ship will allow us to infiltrate and remove personnel from the K&Q network. Thought that will send red flags through the system. Better to steal people from the K&Q competitors. We will gain the people and resources you seek, while distracting the K&Q from those believing Jess has declared a hot trade war that will force her attention on putting out fires before she can focus on the cause."
Amaya strode to the 3D display and brought up a list of areas. "The K&Q has it's fingers in nearly all human systems utilising the trade networks each King and Queen operate. Thus to enter and extract personnel from other companies who operate in those zones will increase the risk of the K&Q directly coming into contact with us. But outside human territories the K&Q has less of a presence. Other human trade companies have established a degree of success that Jess will be seeking to steal from them in a bid to grow the K&Q trade dominance and challenge alien traders in those zones... But with the right timing and intervention we can fly in under the banner of the K&Q, unleash our fighter and boarding craft to take down the ships, and ransack and be gone out of alien territory with only the ghostly afterimage of a pre-war K&Q vessel built for battle in this modern age. That will send shockwaves through systems and create a lot of controversy that will land on Jess's doorstep, delaying any retaliation as she tries to figure out what is happening while confidence in the company fails, costing her lucrative contracts and questions from the Alliance as to if Jess is turning the backup militia into an actual pirate fleet. She will grow desperate trying to hold her fragile grip on power that will lead her to come find us, bereft of those allies she can call upon. And then you will have her, weakened and helpless... And then maybe, you will..." Amaya stopped herself as she realised she'd been about to express doubt as to Iyana II's capability to handle Jess in a weakened state...
Iyana II was no doubt different from Iyana herself. Amaya had hoped it was just a matter of time until she regained her full faculties, but time had done nothing except allow her to express by how much she differed, and it was getting worse. Rather, a new Iyana was emerging from the shell of the old. One far more calculating and vicious who took greater pleasure from the torment of others. Her first Superior had always had method to her madness, while this one she was getting to know was still her Superior... She could feel that connection still between them, but something inside her had changed. something was missing. And Amaya wondered if somehow, in some way, she could reclaim what was gone, or if Iyana was simply on a quest to ruin her enemies and force their acknowledgment of her superior nature.

Iyana peered up at Amaya with what seemed a sickly expression, but her cold eyes stared with far more intelligence and alertness.
"All leave, except Amaya," Iyana ordered.
The bridge crew did as told, without questions. Alone, upon the extensive bridge of the carrier, Amaya and Iyana II faced each other.
"Beware, Amaya, for risk does not concern me. It is efficiency that I care of. Your meaning is understood, if your choice of words was poor. I forgive you, but you must....improve."
Amaya felt how cold this Iyana was, how without mercy she was, and that she seemed to want the fear of retribution on Amaya's face as well as her obedience and service. It would not be a kind superior, she would serve, but one who was voracious in a way that was hard to understand. Perhaps reading that, Iyana went on.
"There are rewards, Amaya, but I warn you to think of those as well. Most will get what they ask for if they give me my desires, if they can overcome their fears. But most also do not know what they truly wish. I promise, as my predecessor did, life eternal. That is as much an obligation to your own soul as a reward, and as such, is the only worthwhile prize as far as I am concerned. You are not required to want this, but you best weigh if your own wishes are as worthy."
Iyana stared to the viewscreens. "Out there, we will do as you suggest, for now. Because it is efficient. This ship needs qualified people to crew it and highly trained people to operate its fighters. Otherwise it might be as meritless as the Medusa. There are few places I know of that can provide these kinds of people, but you will direct me to all those that you know of. And if that does not fill our compliment, I know of one further, that I will save for the end. Give me these places you speak of, Amaya, and we will go there. I will need what I ask for before I can enact another, necessary, part of my plan."
Staring back to Amaya, Iyana's voice dropped to a frigid quiver. "You see that I am not fully complete. I cannot be, Amaya, for the mind and soul work in particular ways. This is what Tysis discovered and worked with. I must be made complete, Amaya. I can only be made complete if I can find my Prime. Reine Melanie Reith. I must find my Prime and unlock that which can complete me from within her. It likely will kill her but there is no place for that vessel anymore. Not with me."

Morgan
Morgan had been busy, traveling back and forth from planet to either ship. With Anika down below and Jess busy with her experimentations, command had fallen to him and somewhat Radelle. But Radelle was the less flexible of the two of them, needing to command the larger crew aboard the Pegasus.
At the time, Morgan was on the Medusa, having to do work with Lucy Wescott, Sophie, Fina and Sherrie. Morgan found energy as he was once again able to spend time with the crew he'd been around most. He'd almost forgotten that Reine and Jocelyne both were aboard the Medusa as well, as they'd been following Jess about. Forgotten until between encounters with Sherrie (who was so fastidious when in her kitchen, Morgan found she had a rather large list of items to attend to), Morgan had passed Reine in a passageway.
He nodded to her and she nodded back. Morgan noted her new, predominantly black armor that could reconfigure itself, much like his (taken from the vaults of Tarballs). Though usually not that talkative, Morgan asked as they passed each other, "Not with Jess?"
"Heading to her at the moment," Reine said, making no mention of Jocelyne or why the two sisters seemed to want to shadow Jess lately. "Is there something you need to tell her? I can relay the message."
"No, no, nothing at the moment I know she's got her hands full." Morgan glanced at Reine's armor again. "Did you ever wonder, why of all the suits of armor, ours seemed clearly most matched? And separate in color from the rest?"
"Iyana had influence on the design, recommendations she made to Tarballs regarding a megalomaniacal attention to rulership over the future species she envisioned. He was rather open to the idea."
"Hmmn." Morgan wondered about it as it didn't entirely answer his question, but he left it at that. "Well, she certainly spent a lot of time thinking about it."
"Yes, too much so. Anything else?"
"No, carry on."
The two went seperate ways, back to their tasks.

Janase pretended to get the call as she heard boris come up to join them. "Yes...speaking..." She said, making sure to speak loud enough for the batarians and blue suns to hear. As she did, she noticed someone walking towards the door they were going to head towards. It was a human, head down and avoiding eye contact as she let out a sigh.
'I hope we wrap this up soon...I can't stand being here...' She thought as she looked at the human, then her eyes narrowed as she saw them walking, and noticed a hand behind their back. 'Wait...what are they doing?' she thought as she began to take a few steps closer, seeing them walking steadily faster towards their destination.
Team B
Tanith grunted as he worked to pry the doors open, gritting his mandibles as he did so. 3 Batarians got out of the doors, stumbling forward and out as they cursed in batarian. "Someone stopped the elevator..." One of them said in anger as he rose up to his feet, dusting himself off. "Some human...must have done something to stick us in there..."
"A human? What makes you say that?" Tanith asked, curious to hear this as the other two didn't seem to question Keiths accessing the elevator. The other two continued as they spoke, "We were on our way back from our break when a human in scrubs came up to us, and said the other elevators were broken...When we got in, the power cut and we couldn't get in touch with anyone."
The kid nodded as he looked to the others, "Nobody but me. I heard them banging from the inside.." he said. As keith would be scanning, he'd see that there was a point of interference as well. A small jamming decide, the size of a half-dollar, was lying on the ground.
"Whoever that human is, they're dead..." The batarian said as he went to his comms, motioning the others to follow him as he spoke, "Commander, we have a situation. Some human tried to trap us in the elevators, they may be with the RB." before going out of earshot of the others.
Team A
Commander Ky'jhan got on his comm as the human approached, Janase looking at them and then to Ky'jhan as her eyes widened. She turned around and ran over to Ereba, "Ereba, Boris, Dallas, We need to get out of here now..." She hissed loud enough for them to hear. She rushed forward close enough for the others to hear, "The Reaper's Bane is here!" she whispered through gritted teeth.

Dallas suspected what was up the moment she saw the person who had something behind her back. While Janase had stepped forward, Dallas reached out with her left hand to grab Janase's shoulder and pull her back behind herself to protect Janase. With her right hand, she was drawing her heavy pistol, which was the fastest weapon she felt she could deploy.
"Get down!" Dallas was shouting as she tried to stop the person heading for the door with her heavy pistol shots.

Duellos – Naleena
Several days had passed and the work had been completed. Dr. Foteni had been returned to the ship and immediately began inspecting her lab equipment. She found Darius sitting at the table in the kitchen area reading the operations and service manual.
Naleena’s conversation with Ralare had brought a name to the front of her mind: Xanthe Remi. It had been several years since she arranged for Xanthe to be sent to the Naesala Siarist Monastery on Nevos. In an effort to preserve the planet’s natural environment, most of the colony’s population was in arcologies, giant self-sufficient buildings that housed about a million people each. The monastery was about 200 kilometers outside of Crajor and run by Matriarch Maldaisi.
Naleena was the last one to board the ship. She poked her head in their quarters and found Mira reading.
“Mira, I know we have to get back to Jess and Morgan, but we’re going to take a side trip. You remember Xanthe Remi? We’re going to pay her a visit. I want to see how she’s doing,” Naleena said.

Mira looked up from her book, Naleena noting it was a history of Matriach Dilenaga's early years, and famous for being rather voluminous (the equivalent of reading War and Peace for asari, which meant it was about 10 times as long as War and Peace).
"Xanthe Remi, that is not a name I've heard of in a long time. I think that is a good idea. I of course remember her from when we were on Duellos." There was a look of regret momentarily in Mira's eyes. "I wish we could have done more for her."

"People can't just go around trapping others inside elevators! That's against the la-..." Keith began when the sound of gun fire came down the hall. Everyone turned and Keith quickly spun back after seeing they at least were in no sign of direct danger. "Okay! Looks like a party that way! If you could please clear the elevator as fast as you can, there you are... We'll start work on getting it repaired right away and... Likely get off this floor. These aren't great conditions to be repairing elevators you understand and..." Keiths Omnitool then blared a warning as he looked and saw his Omnitool was picking up aerosol particles from somewhere in the lift that meant one thing.
Climbing up into the space, Keith found where the particles were coming from and noting the elevator lift control panel had been tampered with, checked it over before slowly opening it. Inside he saw the cause of his tools alarm and he gulped before sliding out, back onto the floor. "I'm sorry, this one's about to be be scrapped. No chance of repair... Could all of you... please run..? In that direction? Away from the lift? Run now please..! Aaah... As for us... We'd better find that other lift we came to service... Okay thank you buhbyyye!" Keith said in a hurry as he scooped up his toolbox and clipboard, quickly stopped to stick an 'out of service' sign on the doors before he turned and fled down the hall. "Come on! There are other lifts out there we can save! Lets not stick around the one with a bomb in it!"

The Majestic
Amaya nodded at Iyana's words. "Jess will fight like a mother bear to keep that vessel safe. Harder still if she knows you are coming for her. The path to success may lie in copying her pattern. Using an alias to protect your identity, something she cannot tie back to you. A persona that will strike the right chord with those you come across to illicit the right reaction."
Amaya turned to the navigation table and looked at their position. "The question is, who do you wish to swoop on first? Asari space is well governed but even they have fringe colonies lacking in protection for a well placed strike. Jess has precious few transports in that area, but the ones she has operate well outside of the protection of the patrols, if only to stop the Asari from pressing their rights to trade with those Jess has... arrangments with."

Iyana calculated while disparaging Jess' ship. " I do not want the Medusa or her rabble. I simply say that this carrier is as useless as that antiquity without our compliment. Republics territory does sound like the proper place to begin. The asari can be very useful when properly interned."
Iyana then wondered at Amaya's comment. "An alias you suggest? It isn't from my stored memories but my research that the Kings and Queens preferred alternate names. I am open to suggestion, if you wish."

A Siarist monastery on Nevos where they could work with her and quiet her tortured mind. I'd like you to be with me when we visit her. I think it would make her happy to see you," Naleena said. "And while we're there... Mira, we've been together for a couple of years now and I don't see that changing... I don't want that to change... I would like us to be bonded if you will have me."

"Yes, I would like to see how she is doing," Mira said and started to peer back down to her reading, which was typical when she happened to think a conversation was over, mistakenly or not. Then she sort of froze at the mention of the word, 'bonded'.
Her gray eyes got large and filled with both uncertainty and wonder. Mira stammered, and Mira never stammered. "Did you s-say b-bonded?"

"I know this is a big decision. I've been thinking about this for a long time. It's not like when you bond with a shorter lived species it's only for a few decades. This is the old way, the way my grandparents did it. It's just that in my nearly 360 years, I know that you are with whom I belong. I love you and I want to be with you the rest of my life," Naleena said with strong eye contact and very little blinking. And then she smiled. "Don't say you've never thought about this... how things could be. Especially when we took that vacation together once we got past the teaching. You know you did some teaching of your own, there. I learned who you were and fell more in love with you."

Team B (Retroactive)
"We were guarding the Prisoner Ward. They're gonna hit there for sure!" The batarians shouted towards keith, not seeming to care about rank as the dire situation came about. Tanith watched them go and looked towards keith.
"The time for subtly is over I think. We need that elevator to the fake floor opened up and fast..." The turian said as he followed Frank's lead, leaving before the elevator could have a chance to explode. He got on his own omnitool, and called down to C team. "We got a problem. There are terrorist here, and they seem to be trying to carry out some kind of operation." He was calling Draco, because in his eyes the time for cloak and dagger had just gone up in smoke. And when that bomb went off, it would definitely be up in smoke.
Team A
Janase was pulled back by the other, and as Dallas fired her shots the human she hit stumbled forward. A shield around them flickering before collapsing from the shots as they turned around. They whipped the predator pistol they'd been concealing on them, firing off a few shots at dallas that Janase managed to intercept, throwing up a flash of biotics as a barrier to take 2 of the hits.
Heavy footsteps sounded as Commander Ky'jhan ran forward, his gauntlet becoming encased in a omni-constructed fist. He slammed the attack into the attackers head, hitting the side and carrying them all the way to the wall, where it dented and cracked. The human slumped to the floor and crumpled in a heap. "Get out of here, all of you! This place isn't-" He had been in the middle of barking his order when the doors opened behind him from the ward. A batarian in blue suns armor and 3 other humans wearing prison fatigues came out.
The commander looked and for a moment, his guard was dropped seeing someone in blue suns armor approaching. His eyes trained on the humans as he pulled out his Carnifex, but didn't look at the batarian, not until he trained a Katana shotgun on his head and pulled the trigger. Commander Ky'jhan's body flew back and landed, now headless, as the batarian looked towards their group with a scowl.
"Death to Slavers..." He said as he cocked his gun, as Janase's biotics flared and she threw a biotic throw towards the batarian agent of the reaper's bane. It struck him in the chest and sent him sprawling backwards onto the floor on his back, but from the pained groan he was still alive and well.
"Permission to withdraw, Ma'am." She said as she looked to Dallas, as the other escaping prisoners began to scramble for cover, looking for weapons to arm themselves and fight their way out.

Ereba vanished. In the commotion she circled around behind the group of four with her sidearm drawn. Janase's throw had stunned the batarian in Blue Suns armor, but he was recovering. Ereba made her move toward him and soon he found himself with her carnifex pressed against his neck.
"Don't move," she said as she decloaked. "Tell your people to stand down."

Dallas agreed with Janase. "Fall back," she ordered, "This slaver shit is done." She hadn't wanted to blow their cover, but it also proved to be a particularly bad cover if you had a slave uprising in the middle of the hospital. Which it certainly looked like was happening. Falling back occured easier in Dallas' mind than trying to explain about hey, that Slaver thing, we're really not. Besides, there were the other teams and, well, that part might not matter. Then, of course, Ereba made her move.
"Ereba, fuck!' Dallas said, thinking she was about to try and get on the slaver's side. Not that it might have been a bad plan, but it was not the plan. "This place is a hot dump now. We need to leave!"
Team C
Draco was getting the message. "Come on, time to get to our objective," he said to the others.

Team A
