Mira
There was only a moment of pause as the realization of what Naleena offered was finally landing behind Mira's eyes. Then, suddenly, she dropped the datapad she was reading from, leapt straight off the bed to wrap her arms around Naleena (who had to catch her own balance as Mira landed on her), and Mira shouted gleefully, "Yes! Yes, yes, yes!"
Mira was light, but the jump might have had some biotic force behind it, certainly momentum, as Mira locked her legs around Naleena, perhaps making it more difficult to remain standing, but also making it unquestionable as to Mira's response. And for her slender shape and weight, Mira certainly squeezed Naleena plenty hard while she squealed with excitement.
After another few seconds, Mira pulled her head back to look into Naleena's eyes, and Naleena saw what wasn't necessarily unexpected, but was just as wonderful to see as a reaction. Mira's lower lip was trembling, her eyes watered, and she was about to break out bawling in joy. "You've made me the happiest maiden ever, Naleena."

Aboard the White Rose
Mira's squeal of excitement carried back to Cargo Bay 1 where Irina and Jenus were working out. Tallis was doing crunches and Alarya was on her hands with her feet against the wall doing inverted pushups. The squeal made them stop. Alarya dropped down. Irina shook her head.
"Do you think we should check on Textbrain?" Irina asked.
Darius looked up from the manual and picked his teeth for a moment. "If there was something wrong you'd hear more... I think.... I'd let Tallis decide."
Naleena
There was a lip lock and Naleena lost her balance and the two crashed on the bed with a whump.
(Note: the whump was heard in the cargo bay)

By the time Boris arrived and had his Chain gun up and spinning, it was all over. "Nyet!" He cursed. "Oh well. Boris not hog all fun for himself." He reflected when he heard the order to withdraw. "Oh! Now we go back to Limo?" He griped as his hud again lit up with additional commands and a schematic of the limo outside. He tapped the side of his helmet, before he focused back on the team. "Stay in Limo! Come out of Limo! Evacuate Hospital to Limo!" He went on as his Hud flashed a command protocol message in his periphery. "Dis just way of getting Boris more active! Spectre twins think in circles not looking for Boris give his permission."
The hud protocol message went green.
Outside, the limo's engine activated as it's onboard systems flooded with energy. It's sensor suite spun up and locked onto Boris's position as it calculated the fastest route to his location and the obstacles in it's way. Then with a thunderous roar its wheels spun as it kicked itself around leaving tyre smoke pouring as it beelined for the stairs leading to the Hospital and hit them with sparks emerging from it's undercarriage as it poured all power into the motor and launched itself at the front doors, smashing them open and leaving the Asari secretary open mouthed as a Limo worth more than ten years of her salary drove by into the wide halls and past as it began plotting it's route to where Boris was waiting after he'd inadvertently activated it's evacuation protocols.

Dallas was retreating but only after providing cover and with the others. "I would say we shouldn't try to kill the slaves unless they're targeting us. Sometimes, things have a way of working themselves out. We're not going to get in this way, that's for sure, maybe the other teams will."
With a nod to Boris, the two 'bodyguards' were fulfilling their roles as best as they could to protect Janase and Ereba, even though they were capable of their own accord.
As they retreated through the hospital, to rendezvous with the 'dedicated' limo, Dallas got on com with the teams, including B and C. "A is compromised, we are pulling back. There's a slaver uprising, Janase believes the Reaper's Bane are here. We will provide backup where we can, but get to your objectives as fast as possible."

Team A
The humans looked at Ereba, as their batarian comrade was subdued. He seemed to resign to his fate, but to their seeming surprise, he was simply knocked unconscious instead of killed. They looked towards the group, one of them quickly scooping up the katana shotgun on the ground as Team A backed away.
And then spoke, "Go...We'll remember this." The human leading them seemed to say, looking back at their dead friend and shaking their head as another human went and grabbed the carnifex on the ground. They ran back to the prisoner ward, presumably to start freeing more people.
Janase heard the crashing behind them as they turned back as the Limo tore its way through the halls, hitting and continuing past a few of the blue suns walking the halls. The way had essentially been cleared for them to make a break for it, and the entire hospital was now starting to break down into a state of chaos as people tried and failed to reach the superior in charge of the hospitals defenses.
Team C
Ahnjan didn't need to be told twice, shaking his head as he spoke, "I suppose this is beginning to fit my expectation of having to go into a war zone..." The krogan grumbled with a curt "tchhhh" and began to climb up the pathway leading up to the Hospital. They soon came to the other side of the emergency exits, finding a currently abandoned hallway as the blue suns tried to coordinate a headless defense.
Team B
Tanith followed keith as he held his sword at the ready. He was beating a quick path to the elevators down the hall, "Remember, it's a floor that's skipped by the normal control panel. It's still in the system, just find the one not tied to any of the button controls..." He hoped to the gods they managed to get it. The other team should be coming up to meet them any moment now.

Tallis
Tallis shrugged and just waved away towards the sound, as if to dismiss it, and went back to spotting Jenus.
In truth, Tallis had a good idea why Mira would squeak, when Mira never squeaked. But she didn't want to bother Naleena and Mira in their moment, so she pretended like it was nothing.
Jenus was slightly curious, remarking, "What the void is Textbrain up to?" But thinking long about things wasn't much on her list of goals so she went back to doing reps.
Mira
Mira was too excited to think about telling anyone just at the moment, and instead, focused all her attention on Naleena.
Eventually, people would get to know. But Mira was a patient asari.

Team A
Dallas said, "Get in," as she switched to her rifle and provided cover. Once the team was inside the limo, Boris in the driver's seat, Dallas got in and closed the door. "Nice job, Boris, I had no idea this vehicle had a VI. But I'd like you to get us out of here on manual."
Then Dallas said to the whole team, "Chances are there's going to be city security sent this way, but it could take a while for them to organize if they think it's serious, which it is. We're going to pull out of this building to a place the other teams can get to us when they're ready to leave. They'll want to do it fast, and we'll want to be gone before there is any coordinated response. I'm hoping we don't have to go back in there to get anyone out, because if we do, it's going to be a lot bloodier."
To Janase, Dallas said, "Good job in there, but I need you to stay in communication with Tanith and Draco, if you've got any input for them. Stay on coms."
Team C
Draco was with Ahnjan, Kamau and Darya just behind. "They don't know everything yet, we can take advantage of the chaos. We've got to get to our objective as soon as possible. Time is ticking."
To Team B, Draco messaged, "Team A is now in reserve and will position for our escape, it's up to us. If you get to the target, tell us and we will meet you there if we haven't gotten their first. Skip the elevator repairman bit, it doesn't matter anymore. Move fast, and avoid fights if you can."

"Boris had no idea Limo had VI!" Boris exclaimed as he looked over the controls and punched a few at random. "How to make machine manual?"
"Manual control confirmed." The Limo stated as the wheel was released to Boris's control. "Please be advised, pedestrians ahead. Obstructions detected. Armour is in the area..."
"Dis machine like if Butler crossed with Wolverine!" Boris exclaimed. "Hey? What armour is in area? Like Tank?"
"High density metal consistent with military grade armour used to clad or reinforce building fabrication has been detected. Please note, this vehicle is not rated to drive through such armour and attempt to do so will void warranty."
With everyone in the limo and the doors closed, bullets plinked off the vehicles armoured skin as Boris held up a finger for the others to wait.
"Ooooh. Dis sound promising! Where is big armour?"
"Building reinforcement is approximately fifty meters down, extending an additional three meters. At that point this vehicle is unable to penetrate deeper."
"Right!" Boris exclaimed. "See? Dis why bringing tank is always good idea!"
"This vehicle is a limos..."
"Not talking to you!" Boris exclaimed as he grabbed the wheel and turned it as he gunned the motor and spun the limo around to point back the way it had come. "If Limo can drive through a Hospital it must be okay for Boris to do so too! Dah?" The limo's powerful engine roared as Boris sent everyone back into their seats as he accelerated down the destroyed walls. People were running around and sticking their heads out to see what happening, only to jump out of the way as the team roared by.
Finally, they were out into the reception and Boris skidded the Limo around for the front exit when everyone saw a group of Blue Suns at the entrance. It looked as if they were activating the Hospital's security system as reinforced metal bollards rose out of the ground even as security shutters were dropping in place, normally to keep people out, they would serve just as well to keep the Limo from being able to carry them to safety.
"Obstruction ahead... Reduce speed." The VI chipped in helpfully.
"Bah! Boris always say driving require three dimension thinking!" He uttered as several of the Blue Suns were readying heavier weapons and taking aim. "We leave by scenic route! Dah?"
Flipping the wheel, the Limo turned abruptly that threw anyone inside against it's leather padded interior as Boris aimed the nose of the car for one of the sweeping staircases that led to the second level. The car hit the staircase and everyone heard the sound of the nose grinding on the stairs until the nose came up high enough for the wheels to make contact and then everyone was treated to a bumpy ride as Boris drove the Limo up the sweeping stairs as weapons fire exploded the stairs side mounted glass panelling.
Coming to the top of the staircase Boris skidded to the side as the walkways were narrower, but still just wide enough to allow the Limo through.
In the back, a compartment opened as chilled champagne flutes arose, filled with the cool refreshing drink. "Please enjoy your complimentary drink, courtesy of our proud... INSERT NAME HERE... manufacturer of this vehicle that dedicates itself to refined comfort and style. Even in the worst of circumstances."

"Holy....," Dallas started to say but had to pause as she braced herself with her hands, dropping her rifle in her lap, one hand on the nearby door and the other on the roof, as the limo went hurtling through the hospital. There was a half a second where a blue sun helmet smacked into the side window by her, and then it was gone. The limo went all the way up to the second level, and there was even more screaming.
"...shit!"
Dallas finally gathered herself. She was seat belted in, and she picked up her rifle again, ignoring the champaign; the flutes splashed their contents happily as the well-designed shocks of the limo couldn't absorb everything. "Okay, Boris. We're now on floor two. Find a weak enough wall and fly us out of here if you have to. We do not belong in a hospital with a limo!"

Keiths head nodded as he kept moving, looking at the above head signs to point him towards the elevators. "Right! Skipping... floors... leve..- Hang on." Keith added as an indicator on his tool showed him Boris's armour had connected to a new system. Looking into it briefly he found the armour had interfaced with the Limo and bringing up the limo's display he saw the readouts showing it thrashing through the Hospital wards on the level above. "He can't do that... That's against..." He paused as he thought. "... Well there must be some law against thi..- oh." He added as he spotted the limo's sensor telemetry had spotted a reinforced section of the hospital that hadn't appeared on any of the plans he'd poured over. Checking his hospital layout he found several elevators directly in the area, one of which was positioned directly over a shaft that didn't appear on the plans.
"I think I've got it!" Keith exclaimed as he sent the data to his teams omni-tools. "It's a shaft over a reinforced structure not on the plans! I guess Dallas must have told Boris about the Limo's sensor suite and decided to go hot!"

Team A
Boris laughed as he skidded to take a corner and found the partition walls thinner upstairs, allowing him a much wider turning circle that he preferred while at speed. "Little Wolverine does not belong in Hospital..!" Boris started agreeing. "...But little Wolverine is two half tonnes of animal! So like gorilla is goes where it wants! Dah?"
None the less Boris was talking a roundabout way back to the front of the building, albeit off to the side. As they'd approached the Hospital Boris had seen a bank of windows close to a section of nearby road. It was as good as anyplace to make an exit and escape.
The only problem was the hospital floor Boris found as someone had spent a lot of time cleaning, polishing and waxing it that the tyres were having trouble maintaining a grip. At high speed Boris could feel the steering starting to go that resulted in the slip and slide of the vehicle that was resulting in some substantial property damage of the upper level. As Boris fought to stay on course the VI suddenly pointed out.
"This unit has identified radio chatter I believe pertains to this vehicle."
"Das good!" Boris cheered. "Put on speaker!"
"This unit can play intercepted messages, however at your current level of subscription, you are limited in the service this unit can provide. To unlock the intercepted transmissions feature, please enter your account details and accept our one month payment plan. For additional features, you can upgrade to our Gold Service that includes randomly generated protection plans for you and your family... If you recommend our service to a friend..."
"Nyet!" Boris exclaimed. "Anyone have credit? Boris is broke!"

"I got it," Dallas said, and she put down her rifle as she activated her omni-tool. It was then that Boris hit a particularly slick part of the floor and the car spun. The G-force pressed Dallas against the side of the car, and kept her fingers inches away from the omni-tool keys just as she was about to enter the credit number of her hidden account (Spectres tended to have a few).
"Urrghh!" Dallas groaned as the limo whirled.
Finally the spin slowed, and Dallas keyed the numbers. "Give us the works, limo!" Then to Boris she said, "Come on, get us out of here."

From the limo's internal speakers the occupants of the cabin heard a member of the Blue Suns talking to another.
"... re go for take off on standard patrol pattern."
"Negative Firebird! Negative! I repeat, the target is a black Limousine! Attack and destroy!"
"Ahh, I'm looking at our feeds and I'm not seeing anything that matches that description Nestegg."
"Negative Firebird! Its in the building! I repeat! Its in the building!"
"Ahh... Say again Nestegg?"
"It's tearing the place apart! It went upstairs! If it tries to leave engage and destroy!"
"Ahh... Nestegg have you been hitting up the pharmacy to hard again?"
"We'll give you a zone! Just be airborne and keep your eyes open! This thing shrugs off small arms fire. We're setting up heavy weapons on the roads outside."
"Ahh okay then. Firebird dusting off."

Aboard the Majestic
A series of Relay jumps was made into the Terminus systems. There was a plethora of information within the databanks of the ship, assembled by Tarballs, and monumentally illegal, of the patrols made by Council ships. It was taken from the assembled intelligence of the Kings and Queens, and whatever alliances they had made. And it proved to be rather accurate.
As such, the Majestic proceeded unchallenged, until finally it made it's last jump into the edge of a system that was a fringe, low population asari colony. Not officially of the Republics of course, but sponsored as such. There was supposed to be a monitoring ship in place, but the colony at the moment was unprotected. And as the intelligence would have it, insignificant enough to monitor arriving vessels coming into the system. While vulnerable, the risk would be great to intervene with the colony from the perspective of consequences to face, but of course that didn't seem to bother Iyana II.
There was a science officer, monitoring the sensors, who felt compelled enough to mention, "My superior, as we approach the colony, they will detect us, and if they are concerned, they will move to a defensive location."
"Let them," Iyana said, "I want no harm to come to them until we have a chance to meet with them. I want them to have a choice in the matter, and that is after I determine if any among them are worthy."

Janase was barely able to keep herself upright, as the limo swung around this way and that. Her eyes were wide and she did her best to keep herself stable with her arms. "Goddess...protect..." She got out as she was tossed forward before quickly tossed back.

"Excellent! Get it operating and we can all get in there." Tanith said as he got on his comms, "Keith might have found it. Get ready to move."
Team C
"Understood..." Ahnjan said as he looked towards Draco, "I suppose its time to move..." He said as he went to open the door.

Naleena
Naleena and Mira melded.
Darius looked over at Tallis with a shrug, picked up his datapad and went into the rear cargo bay. “Hey, Foteni! Can you explain something to me. Something doesn’t look right here. The manual says we have to bring the pressure in the plasma injectors up to here, but if we do that without compensating for the temperature in the mixing manifold we could have an explosion. Why doesn’t the manual mention anything like that? I swear people who write this stuff don’t know what in the Spirits they’re doing. Or am I missing something?”
***
The next morning the White Rose set course for Nevos. When they arrived in the system, Naleena requested a military hangar at the Space Port. It wasn’t difficult to get because even though her Spectre Status said “restricted,” Sao’s didn’t, and the Salarian loved throwing his weight around.
Next was traveling to the monastery. Due to Xanthe’s condition she could not handle more than two visitors, so that meant Naleena and Mira. Naleena had invited the team to their bonding ceremony, and there was a resort 15 km away on the shoreline where the team could stay for a few days and enjoy the warm sunshine.
Naleena and Mira met one of the maidens at the monastery who escorted them into the garden where Xanthe wore a comfortable gray full length hooded robe with the hood dropped on her back and was working on a flower bed. Matriarch Maldaisi was seated under a tree reading a book and was expecting them. The maiden left them with the Matriarch.
Naleena gave the customary bow. “I am Naleena T’Sarius and this is Mira T’Riel. We are here to visit Xanthe Remi. Xanthe was my mentor during my early days as a Spectre and was once Mira’s commanding officer. The last time I saw Xanthe she was in a very bad way having undergone selipse torture which was why I had her sent here. Has she made any progress toward recovery?”

Dr. Foteni
The mood of Darius wasn't necessarily uplifting, but his basic desire to engage and interest had proven the ability to get a normally self-consumed Foteni to respond. In a quiet and patient voice, she had answered, "Anything with a volatility of physics such as the production of armor, or repairing armor, requires skilled administration. You will not be able to set this machine up and leave it to put out your product. The manual presumes that the reader is not only adept in the required fields of science, but is not designed necessarily to be user friendly. Here, let me go over a list of items you are going to need to be familiar with."
Mira
As far as a ceremony was concerned, Mira took the time to explain that while they might keep it smaller, there were some people she wanted to be sure to invite if they were going to make it a public affair. She had a list of 30 people, including some who Naleena was familiar with. "I think we should invite Jess and Morgan, and his sister Jen. And...Anika if you are comfortable with that. I would also invite Spectre Daliax and some of her crew. Vayne and Essul. I would miss Iole if she weren't there with Frank. You may have people. Sao, VERA...And, I...well, while Jenus might be fine alone with Irina, I do believe, if I may, that Tallis would want to invite her parents. It might put off the ceremony but if it is a celebration, I do believe we should make it complete with those who care about us."
The Monastery at Nevos
Matriarch Maldaisi was younger in her appearance than her years, with a round face and a body that had adjusted its build to 'comfort'. Her feet were bare and she peered up, placing a hand over her eyes. "Ah, Spectre Naleena T'Sarius. Welcome. I have heard great things about you. Especially from Syra, she speaks highly of you. Come, have a seat with me for a moment, and then we shall speak to Xanthe."
Naleena and Mira could see Xanthe tending to the garden some meters away, out of earshot mostly if one was careful with their voice. She hadn't even reacted to their entry, instead focused on her work, her gray hood hiding her visage.
Maldaisi spoke quietly enough so that Naleena and Mira only could hear. "So, we don't often speak here specifically of progress, although I think you will be pleased enough to find plenty of what you mean by that when you meet Xanthe. But you must know, mostly, that this monastery is a sanctuary for those who find it suits them better than the galaxy beyond its walls. You will see for yourself when you meet with Xanthe, but give what she has been through, please keep in mind that yes, she has indeed come a very long way."

Darius
The turian nodded with what could be perceived as a smile. "I was hoping you'd say that. I watched you work what would look like magic to the uneducated eye back on Bekenstein. Now I have no formal education. I learned engineering as a technician on a turian battlecruiser, then learned how to improvise and keep rust buckets running way above where they were supposed to in a pirate fleet... that was before we got caught. I served my time. Then I saw an 'engineer wanted' on the docks, the Spectre hired me, and here I am," he said and the way he studied the equipment, Foteni could tell that despite his gruff demeanor that the turian was highly intelligent and had a great desire to learn new things. His gruff demeanor was from his time in prison. He meant no disrespect by it.
Naleena
Xanthe had kept working the flower bed. She was planting bulbs. Naleena watched her for a bit and how she seemed to be at peace. The monastery was a wonderful place away from the cares of the rest of the galaxy... or day to day life for that matter. Life here was simple, routine, like it was many centuries ago before the great expansion even though they had modernized some... they did have electricity and communications, but otherwise things were much as they used to be... simple and self-sustaining.
"I think I understand. When I spoke of progress, I meant quieting of the mind. It was a poor choice of wording. But I'm out there in the greater galaxy, dealing with intrigue, agendas, and galactic threats. It is not easy. This has not been an easy journey for me. My past... it did not blend smoothly. Is there anything you can tell me about Xanthe since she's been here? How badly was she damaged? Will she ever be able to return to society?"

The Ceremony
The idea of a small intimate ceremony vanished. Perhaps the spiritual bonding could be done here? Then a public ceremony like MIra wanted. There was precedence for that. Yes, of course the old crew would be fine. If VERA was invited, that meant Jen would need to be invited. And if Jen was invited that meant Dr. Tolus would be invited. If Dax was invited, that meant Adir would be invited. And of course her mother. It was safe now, and if her mother wasn't comfortable traveling Naleena could contact Ralare. And then there were people whom she wanted to invite who were no longer alive... like Brynne. Morgan, Anika and Jess were on her list, too.
Getting everyone together at one time would be difficult. Missions and all that. Naleena didn't want to wait for that.
"Mira, can we have a private spiritual bonding ceremony at the monastery while we're here and then a public ceremony with everyone else later? You know how long it could take to get everyone in one place. Draco and Dallas have the Janiri Goddess knows where and Essul is with them. Getting Jess and company together shouldn't be a problem. Where are we going to do public ceremony?"

Mira
Mira nodded happily. "Yes, I suppose. If you promise me we will have a ceremony within the year. I don't know if everyone will come but we will invite them, and if they can, then they will. Oh, I'm so excited!"
(later)
Matriarch Maldaisi
"I would keep any expectations within reason, if I was to be fair in saying so," the matriarch said to Naleena. "I think you must understand that the capacity of Tysis to inflict damage was far more monstrous than most anyone I know of envisioned. It is remarkable that Xanthe has recovered at all, and I would say that you will see for yourself her progress. Re-entering society is a worthy goal, and I greatly appreciate your belief. Still, I think the answer to that will become evident in your conversation and, well, I don't want to set back any hopes. You never know what can happen."
The matriarch smiled but Naleena got the sense it was a very magnanimous gesture. As kind and calm as her expression was, Naleena believed that Maldaisi was very much trying to warn with her words and eyes to not have high hopes for Xanthe, tragic as that was.
"Xanthe should be ready to speak now. She will be available for the rest of this hour before she must attend the communal meal at noon."

Mira
Naleena pulled her close and gave her a peck on the crest.
Xanthe
Xanthe seemed oblivious to pretty much everything as they approached. Maldaisi was in the lead and she was so quiet she just kind of appeared next to you. The acolytes were used to that and so was Xanthe.
"Xanthe, you have visitors. You remember Naleena and Mira?" she said.
Xanthe looked up.
Naleena smiled. "I should have come sooner but I wanted to give you time to settle. You look well," and she looked over at Mira who was still glowing. "In case you're wondering about the glow. Mira and I will be bonded very soon. How have you been doing?"

Since it seemed she wouldn't have time to buckle up, she instead reached in and grabbed hold of the seatbelts locks, holding on for dear life as the limo continued to rock and began to pick up speed towards its destination in the 2nd floor. Team B Tanith got on his comms, "The cables done, we gotta get in there and go up manually. It's elevator number 5, and I hope you all are ready to do some climbing..." Tanith said as he looked over towards the others, "And that includes you guys as well. We know which elevator leads to the floor now, lets go..." Tanith said as he went in after Lauren, intent to move before the blue suns were done being distracted by their new intruder. Team C "I couldn't agree more..." Ahnjan said as he opened the door, motioning for the others to make their way as well. The entire hospital was in chaos, the suns trying to coordinate to stop the limo tearing apart the insides, enough that nobody was even watching who was coming or going. He made his way towards the elevators, seeing one marked five and giving a sigh. "I so do dislike relying on brute force, but..." He said as he saw the entire panel down here was locked out. He held his hands steady and plunged them into the gap, a shudder of the metal doors sounding as his fingers were easily able to force their way between in one strike. He grunted and pulled, and the elevator doors were forced open, the elevator opened to reveal a lower-then-ground level interior. He walked in, needing to drop 6 inches and duck as he did so, but looked up at the top and gave a grumble. "Electronic locks on the roofs, but not automatic opening mechanisms. I hate this planet..." He said as getting them unlocked was less then a second. He shoved the latch above open, and stepped aside, "I will go last. My bulk may prove too obtrusive otherwise."

Team A
Dallas had finally braced herself by spreading her knees against the side and the center console. She grit her teeth in what looked like satisfaction as she was finally able to draw her assault rifle, and found the switch to open the gun slit of the armored limousine's 'shotgun' seat, facing forward. "I would really like not to dwell in a hospital, driving through it, wrecking things forever. Can you please find us a way out, Boris?"
There was a figure who stepped out of a room suddenly and Boris had to swerve to avoid the person, in their hospital gown, which sent the limo angling towards a glass partition. Totally unavoidable and the limo went smashing through into what was a sort of large waiting area with stackble tables and chairs. The far end of the waiting area was a hefty external wall, which forced Boris to have to power-slide the limo right, through the furniture to help bring himself to a stop. As the limo did, tables and chairs that got hit by the left side of the limo got bounced and became dangerous projectiles, flying through the air until they hit the far wall, where a surprised Blue Sun and an old woman in a sweater were standing in pure shock. The Blue Sun got decked by a chair in the head and went down instantly. The old woman was barely missed and lucky to end up not being hit by the limo, which came to a stop a foot from her, with Dallas staring out her side window and the old woman staring back. For precious seconds, the two just looked at each other.
Then the old woman shouted, "You guys are assholes!"
Dallas sighed as Boris drove forward again, trying to find a way out back through the way they came in
"She's not wrong," Dallas said.
Team C
"Climbing u? I'll go and take a look around," Draco said, "Follow as best you can." There was a maintenance ladder against one of the shaft walls.
Draco moved some fingers on his left hand, which activated something on his omni-tool. Then he jumped up to the wall. Magnetic locks on the gloves, elbows and knees of his unique armor complimented his own agility as he ascended the alloy elevator shaft wall, directly without using the ladder. As he went up, he made sure to go slightly above the floor they were heading to and looked back down. "This is our stop." Draco pulled his monofilament blade from its sheath and said to Ahnjan by com, "If you can't force the door because of your angle, I'll cut through it."

Xanthe Remi
Xanthe Remi looked up at Naleena, and there was some shock as although she was clearly recognizable, it was not the vision of Xanthe that Naleena remembered. All the authority and confidence was gone, she wasn't that much older but she looked like she'd aged a century, and her face was placid, content perhaps, but soft, with a look of wonderment on it.
Naleena realized immediately, that Xanthe didn't recognize her.
"Hello?" Xanthe greeted, curiously.
Matriarch Maldaisi said, "It was some time ago, but Naleena T'Sarius was a friend of yours, an ally, someone you worked with when you were a Spectre."
"A Spectre. Yes, I was a Spectre," Xanthe said, and then she looked down again at her flowers and continued working.
Matriarch Maldaisi looked at Naleena, then back at Xanthe. "Do you mind if Naleena and Mira spend some time with you?"
"Yes, I like friends. I don't have many. I don't think I have had friends visit me before here."
Maldaisi gave a nod of approval. "Perhaps a half hour. Take it slowly," she said to Naleena, then the Matriarch stepped quietly away, to observe from afar without listening in.
"Bonding is wonderful," Xanthe said, "I am happy for you. I don't remember things anymore much, I'm sorry. I wish you the very best in your bonding. It is what I was told once that must happen for survival. I remember that. I...think...I think...I think bonding is good."
There was a disturbed look Naleena spotted in Xanthe as she paused with the flowers, and Naleena understood that Xanthe was referring to something, although what wasn't clear. Then it passed and the placid look came back to Xanthe's face and she continued her work.
